How we work
Editorial standards
Readers trust us to tell them the truth about careers, training, and money. These rules protect that trust.

Independence
Sponsors fund The Skilled Nation so readers never pay. Sponsors do not choose, review, or approve our stories. Our editorial and sales teams work separately.
Sponsored content
A sponsored feature carries a "Sponsored" label at the top of the page, in the issue, and in any email that links to it. The label names the sponsor. A presenting sponsor's "Presented by" line identifies the issue's funder. It does not mean the sponsor shaped the stories.
Sources and data
Every statistic links to its source. We prefer primary sources: federal agencies, official data releases, peer-reviewed research, and named industry reports. When we use a figure from a secondary report, we name both.
Money Moves
Money Moves gives general financial education, not personal advice. We do not recommend specific financial products in editorial content. Writers disclose any financial relationship with a company they cover.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and add a note at the end of the story that says what changed and when. To report an error, write to editors@theskillednation.com.
Funders and partners
We name funders and program partners once a formal agreement is signed. Partners have no editorial control.
